The construction of the Barskoon — Bedel road in Kyrgyzstan is actively ongoing. The survey work has been completed, and the project is in the final design stage.

According to information from the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the process of coordination with various government agencies is currently underway. The contractor has already delivered the necessary equipment, organized a concrete plant, and attracted a workforce.

Currently, construction work is taking place simultaneously on two tunnels of the project. In Tunnel No. 1, 49 specialists and 55 units of equipment are involved, and 15 meters of excavation have been completed so far. In Tunnel No. 2, 13.2 meters of the main tunnel and 12 meters of the parallel adit have been achieved.

The length of the new road will be approximately 150 kilometers, connecting the village of Barskoon on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul with the Bedel border crossing on the border with China.

The project includes the construction of two tunnels and more than 30 bridges, including two overpasses, as well as protective engineering structures. The implementation is expected to take about five years.
The Barskoon — Bedel road is an important strategic project for Kyrgyzstan's infrastructure. It will create an alternative route to the border with China and help reduce the load on the existing border crossings of Torugart and Irkeshtam.

The route passes through the high-altitude territories of the Issyk-Kul region, which requires the construction of tunnels, bridges, and protective structures. The goal of the project is to develop the country's transit potential, accelerate cargo transportation, and expand trade and economic ties with China.
