Starting from January 1, 2026, an excise tax will be introduced in Kyrgyzstan on non-alcoholic beverages intended for children, as well as mandatory labeling using excise stamps. This was reported by the State Tax Service.

According to the agency's data, this requirement stems from a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers adopted on February 22, 2022. It pertains to products registered as baby food and classified under the customs code 2202.

From the beginning of the specified period, the production and import of beverages without excise stamps will be prohibited.
There is also a transitional period during which the sale of remaining unmarked products is allowed until May 1, 2026, within the country.
Representatives of the tax service urged all manufacturers, importers, and traders to strictly adhere to the new legislative requirements. In case products without labeling are discovered, appropriate measures will be applied in accordance with current legislation.
