The new rules promote the development of local production and support the jewelry industry.
The Government of Kyrgyzstan has approved a new procedure for the sale of precious metals for local jewelry manufacturers, as reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to the new rules, jewelers have the opportunity to purchase metals and gemstones that have been bought by the state, with a 2% discount off the world prices set by the London Bullion Market Association.
This decision is aimed at supporting local producers and developing the jewelry industry sector. Buying points and pawnshops will now be able to sell products and scrap of precious metals to the authorized state body, which will provide jewelers with the necessary raw materials according to the new rules.
