A waste processing plant is planned to be built in Kyrgyzstan

A company for the processing of solid household waste is planned to be established in the Kyrgyz Republic, using technologies from Italy. This became possible due to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Investment Agency and the Italian company TRITOR. The expected investment volume is estimated to be between 10 and 12 million euros.

A meeting involving representatives of government institutions and local government leaders from Bishkek, Osh, Karakol, Tokmok, and Kara-Balta has already taken place.

The Italian delegation became acquainted with the solid waste landfills in Tokmok and Kara-Balta, which could serve as sites for the implementation of the project. The Italian side expressed interest in obtaining a long-term lease of land for up to 30 years on mutually beneficial terms.

The possibility of supplying equipment for the processing of medical waste to one of the medical institutions in the Chui region was also discussed. The preliminary cost of this equipment is approximately 700 thousand dollars, and the company is ready to consider special supply conditions given the social significance of the project.

Consultations on preparing the investment agreement are currently ongoing.

The National Agency also held several meetings with representatives of Italian businesses, including negotiations with the company Valli Estensi, which specializes in tomato products. The investment potential of Kyrgyzstan was presented to the Italian partners, particularly in the agro-industrial sector.

Additionally, a working meeting was held with representatives of Unimpresa, during which possible areas of cooperation and formats for business partnership were discussed.

The negotiations also involved the Deputy Ambassador of Italy to Kazakhstan, the director of the Agency for the Promotion and Internationalization of Italian Companies Abroad, and staff from the consular section of the Embassy of Italy. The Italian side confirmed that Kyrgyzstan is one of the 15 priority countries for Italy and expressed interest in deepening economic cooperation.

Furthermore, the idea of holding a business forum in the format of Central Asia - Italy was discussed, and the Kyrgyz side confirmed its readiness to assist in the preparation and organization of this event.

To increase the volume of interaction, the National Agency initiated appeals to relevant development institutions in Italy, such as the Agency for Trade and Investment, as well as the FederUnacoma association, proposing to conduct thematic online negotiations with interested companies.
