A seminar was held at the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan, marking the beginning of preparations for the national assessment of public financial management in accordance with the PEFA 2016 methodology. This was reported by the ministry's press service.
First Deputy Minister of Finance Ruslan Suynaliev noted that PEFA is an international standard developed with the participation of organizations such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the European Commission.
Against the backdrop of significant strengthening of the country's financial infrastructure, Kyrgyzstan is entering a new cycle of PEFA assessment. Suynaliev emphasized that the growth of budgetary and tax indicators requires an improvement in the quality of financial management and confirmation of compliance with international norms. The PEFA-2026 assessment will be an important tool for objective analysis of the system and identification of priorities for future reforms.
To conduct the independent assessment, the European Union has engaged the international consulting company LINPICO SARL. Suynaliev also urged government agencies to provide data in a timely manner and to actively cooperate with experts. Seminar participants received practical insights into the PEFA 2016 methodology and the requirements for preparing reporting documents.
