- On March 3, Deputy Gulnara Akimbaeva presented a bill concerning the indexing of salaries due to rising consumer prices. The project is available for review on the official website of the parliament.

The proposed amendments to the Civil Code contain the following wording:

“The indexing of employees' wages will be carried out to ensure an increase in the real level of their income in connection with the rise in prices for goods and services.”

For organizations funded from the state budget, indexing will be conducted in accordance with the established regulations of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In private and other organizations that do not receive budget funding, the procedure for indexing will be determined through collective agreements, contracts, and local regulatory acts.

In the explanatory note, the deputy emphasizes that the Labor Code guarantees workers the right to fair remuneration, but does not provide clear mechanisms for maintaining the real level of wages. According to the deputy, the lack of legislative indication on indexing as a means of ensuring the real value of labor leads to uncertainty in the interpretation of norms and a decrease in the protection of workers' rights.
