At Lake Son-Kul, large-scale raids aimed at combating poaching were held from February 28 to March 2, 2026. According to the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, these activities were organized by the staff of the state enterprise "Son-Kul Fishery."
Inspectors conducted an inspection of the lake's water area and its coastal territory. The results of the three-day raid showed no cases of poaching, and no abandoned synthetic nets that could threaten the ecosystem of the water body were found.
The Department of Fisheries noted that the absence of violations indicates an increase in responsibility among fishermen and the effectiveness of the protective measures being implemented. At the same time, the agency urges citizens to comply with the legislation and actively participate in the fight against illegal fishing to preserve the unique nature of the lake.
Regular raids are conducted throughout the republic to protect fish resources and maintain ecological balance.
