As part of the competition, the best projects of the participants have been selected
5 million soms have been allocated for the development of business ideas by women entrepreneurs living in the new buildings of Bishkek and Osh. This became possible thanks to the final stage of the competition organized within the framework of the Swiss project "Araket".
The final stages of the competition took place on February 24 in Osh and on March 2 in Bishkek, where the participants presented their ideas during pitching sessions. These sessions marked the concluding phase of the selection process, during which participants competed for the opportunity to receive small grants for business development. The main goal of the event is to support women living in targeted new buildings and to create new economic opportunities for them through entrepreneurial initiatives.
As a result of the competition, 11 winners from Bishkek and 5 from Osh were identified, who will be able to receive grant assistance to start or expand their businesses. Each winner will be provided with the necessary equipment, and the grant amount for one participant ranges from 200,000 to 350,000 soms.
The presented projects cover a wide range of services and productions, including:
- Beauty salons;
- Children's educational centers;
- Culinary and pastry workshops;
- Sewing studios;
- Recreation and household service centers;
- Fitness gyms;
- Design studios;
Thus, within this project cycle, 16 business initiatives will be supported for a total amount of up to 5 million soms.
The funding for the Swiss project "Araket" is provided by the government of Switzerland, and its implementation is carried out by the consulting group GFA in collaboration with local partners in 11 new buildings in Bishkek and Osh.
