Kyrgyzstan and the World Bank discussed the development of PPP
Meerimbek Koichumanov, who holds the position of Deputy Head of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, recently held a meeting with representatives of the World Bank. According to the agency's press service, the delegation was headed by Aditi Raina, a senior infrastructure finance specialist, and World Bank consultant Erkin Asrandiev was also present.

During the meeting, new legislative initiatives were discussed, including the Regulation on Direct Negotiations within the framework of public-private partnerships and the Methodology for Assessing Budget Support. These documents aim to enhance transparency in procedures and attract quality private investments in projects implemented in the country.

In addition, Koichumanov received information about the outcomes of a technical workshop that took place the day before. The workshop addressed mechanisms for fiscal oversight and issues of institutional accountability in the context of implementing public-private partnership projects.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their interest in further cooperation between the National Investment Agency, the Public-Private Partnership Center, and the World Bank Group.

It should be noted that this meeting took place as part of the current World Bank mission in Kyrgyzstan, aimed at providing technical support to state development institutions and improving legislation in the field of public-private partnerships.
