In Kyrgyzstan, exporters of plant products may face a 60-day export ban if repeated violations of phytosanitary standards are recorded. This was announced by Urmat Takirov, director of the "Kyrgyzexport" Center under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, during a press conference.

As Takirov noted, the need to tighten phytosanitary control was discussed at a special meeting in 2025. As a result, stricter requirements have been imposed on shippers when crossing the border.

Now, documents must include the full addresses and contact details of both the consignor and the consignee. Upon the first violation related to quarantine control, both parties receive an official notification. If the same legal entity or individual entrepreneur commits a repeated violation, the Department of Chemicalization, Protection, and Quarantine of Plants will refuse to issue phytosanitary certificates for up to 60 days.

Urmat Takirov also emphasized that for seasonal products, such a two-month ban could be critical.
Farmers and producers must carefully approach the completion of all necessary documents, conduct laboratory tests, and adhere to temperature conditions, as well as fumigation requirements for the products.
“Exporters need to understand that a 60-day export ban is a serious challenge for seasonal goods. All relevant services are ready for consultations, and we strongly encourage entrepreneurs to contact them in advance to ensure compliance with all requirements,” added the center's director.
