Explanations from the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry
Recently, there has been a significant increase in the prices of chicken eggs in Kyrgyzstan. In supermarkets and markets, the cost of a dozen has reached 160-170 soms.
Many Kyrgyz citizens have become active on social media, expressing surprise at the sharp rise in prices and wondering why eggs have become so expensive.
The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry noted that the increase in prices was influenced by high demand from Kazakhstan and Russia, where there is also a rise in wholesale and retail prices for similar products.
However, the ministry emphasizes that the situation has positive aspects for local producers. Last year, prices were significantly lower, which threatened the survival of many entrepreneurs. The current price increase will give farmers the opportunity to restore their positions in the market.
According to the ministry's information, Kyrgyzstan independently provides itself with chicken eggs at 80%.
