The report plays a key role in assessing the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Framework. In 2026, it will be presented at the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, marking Kyrgyzstan's official contribution to the international review of ecological progress. The creation of this document was conducted within the framework of the National Development Program for the period up to 2030, where natural resource management is highlighted as one of the priority areas of state building.
During the seminar discussions, representatives of government agencies, scientists, and international experts analyzed the expansion of the network of protected natural areas, the rates of reforestation, and measures to protect rare species, including the snow leopard. The risks associated with climate change and the need to integrate environmental issues into educational and governmental systems were also discussed.
The preparation of the Seventh National Report has become an important platform for uniting the efforts of the state and the civil sector. This process was supported by the global initiative of UNDP-GEF, which helps countries update their biodiversity conservation strategies. Experts note that the validation of the report is not only a summary but also a basis for developing long-term financial and institutional solutions for the protection of Kyrgyzstan's unique nature.
