In 2026, 399 million soms were allocated for subsidizing loans for businesses

In Kyrgyzstan, a decision was made in 2026 to allocate 399 million soms to support lending for small and medium-sized enterprises. This information was presented by Nurbek Umetaliev, head of the entrepreneurship development department of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, during a broadcast on "Birinchi Radio."

According to Umetaliev, the government is actively working to support entrepreneurship by allocating funds from the national budget for business lending.

“The interest rate subsidy program for loans to SMEs will be in effect until 2030. Preferential loans are provided through four banks and can be used for investment needs, replenishing working capital, and refinancing previous loans. The main focus is on small and medium-sized businesses, which account for about 50% of the country's gross domestic product,” he noted.

He also added that 60% of the allocated funds will be directed to support businesses in the regions, while 40% will be aimed at assisting women entrepreneurs. The priority sectors include the export-oriented textile industry.

Furthermore, Umetaliev emphasized that the program includes support for startups.

According to him, this year the total volume of the loan portfolio will amount to 3.7 billion soms.
