In August 2025, temporary state price regulation on meat was introduced for a period of 90 days, according to order No. 140. A specialist from the Antimonopoly Regulation Service under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Baktybek uulu Jakshylyk, shared this information on the radio.

He clarified that during the period of this regulation, monitoring of meat prices was carried out in Bishkek and the Chui region.

“For 90 days, we conducted price control in Bishkek and the Chui region, examining their levels. In case of unjustified price increases, penalties are provided: for individuals — 3,000 soms, for legal entities — 13,000 soms. These measures were outlined in the order issued by the authorized body,” he noted.

As part of the order, explanatory work was also organized with meat sellers, during which all entrepreneurs were informed about the new requirements.

A total of 87 monitoring sessions were conducted, involving 276 business entities, with each of them receiving explanatory work.

The specialist added that measures aimed at maintaining stable meat prices continue to be in effect.

The order came into force in August 2025 for 90 days, after which its validity was extended for 30 days, until December 30. Additionally, the temporary regulation was extended by order No. 205 from December 31, 2025, to January 30, 2026. The third extension prolonged the temporary regulation until February 27, 2026.
