At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh held on February 26, 2026, Deputy Mahabat Mavlyanova proposed an initiative for the active development of organic agriculture in Kyrgyzstan.
She emphasized that the uncontrolled use of agrochemicals and mineral fertilizers could lead to serious consequences, including soil degradation and the transformation of fertile agricultural land into desert areas.

According to Mavlyanova, the transition to organic farming can not only increase the level of export of environmentally friendly products but also contribute to regional development and reduce population migration abroad.

The deputy suggested starting with the development of vacant rainfed (non-irrigated) lands by installing drip irrigation systems. This will allow for the efficient use of limited water resources and increase yields without the use of chemicals.
