According to the information from the press service of OJSC "Chakan HPP", a deal has been signed with China National Heavy Machinery Corporation, which will become the general contractor for the reconstruction project of the Lebedinovskaya HPP.
Currently, the company's specialists have already begun work on the design and estimate documentation.
The planned work will focus on modernizing the existing equipment, increasing productivity, and extending the station's operational life. It is expected that the implementation of the project will achieve the following results:

The Lebedinovskaya HPP is one of the oldest operating hydroelectric power stations in the Chui region. Construction began in May 1942 and took place under extremely challenging winter conditions. More than 7,000 women and children participated in the development of frozen soil and pumped out about 200 cubic meters of water daily to maintain the strength of the foundation.
The construction work was completed in just one year and two weeks. In 1943, Frunze (now Bishkek) received the necessary electricity, which contributed to the launch of evacuated industries that met the needs of the front.
