«Ala-Tuu Resort». More than 35 facilities are planned to be auctioned in the second phase

On February 21, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Meder Tumanov, held an on-site meeting in the Ak-Suu district of the Issyk-Kul region. The purpose of this meeting was to monitor the progress of the large investment project — the "All-Season Ski Resort Cluster 'Ala-Tuu Resort'," as well as to assess the fulfillment of commitments made.

According to the Ministry of Economy, based on the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic dated October 6, 2025, No. 638, the state enterprise was transformed into the Joint Stock Company "Ala-Tuu Resort," with the Ministry of Economy and Commerce as the sole shareholder.

The agency emphasized that the project "All-Season Ski Resort Cluster 'Ala-Tuu Resort'" is being implemented in the territories of the resorts Jyrgalan, Ak-Bulak, and Boz-Uchuk in the Ak-Suu district of the Issyk-Kul region. It aims to create a modern tourist center operating year-round and meeting international standards.

The main characteristics of the project include:

* Total area — 3,916 hectares;

* Length of ski slopes by 2038 — up to 250 km;

* Number of rooms — over 7,000;

* Potential number of visitors — up to 4 million tourists per year;

* Creation of over 7,000 jobs;

* Preliminary investment volume — about 1.2 billion euros.

The project will be implemented in phases until 2038.

For the first phase of the project at the "Jyrgalan" site, the government selected the leading Austrian company Doppelmayr Seilbahnen GmbH, known globally for its design and construction of cable cars, to provide design and construction services for cable infrastructure.

The first phase of the auction for the sale of land plots in the tourist complex "Jyrgalan" took place in July 2025, resulting in the sale of more than 14 properties. The second phase of the auction is scheduled for February 2026, where more than 35 properties are planned to be auctioned.

The project includes the phased development of ski, hotel, commercial, and engineering infrastructure, which includes the construction of cable cars and slopes, as well as accommodation facilities of various categories.

During the meeting, participants were briefed on the current status of the project and the results of engineering and geological surveys in the areas of the tourist towns and facilities where cable infrastructure will be built, with implementation progressing ahead of schedule. A report from the executive body of the Society was also heard, discussing the timelines for implementation and expenditure of funds.

Meder Tumanov noted that the state is actively working on the construction of the main engineering infrastructure, including roads, electricity supply, water supply, sewage, and communication. Additionally, support for investors is organized on the principle of a "single window," ensuring transparent interaction procedures.

"For the state, as a shareholder, it is extremely important to ensure transparency in the implementation of the project, adherence to deadlines, and effective use of investments, as well as the prompt elimination of identified deficiencies. The 'Ala-Tuu Resort' project is of strategic importance and is vital for the tourism industry and the economy of the region," added Meder Tumanov.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic will continue to coordinate and monitor the progress of the project as a shareholder of the Society.
