In Kyrgyzstan, 614 thousand hectares of abandoned land were found

The Cabinet plans to allocate 200 thousand hectares for migrants

During a recent inspection conducted by the government, it was found that there are 614 thousand hectares of unused land. Of this area, 200 thousand hectares will be allocated for agricultural needs, as reported by Zhanibek Kerimaliev, the First Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing, during a meeting of the parliamentary committee on agrarian policy and environmental protection.

According to Kerimaliev, the allocation of land will create new jobs and support labor migrants. "We are ready to help those who want to work the land by providing plots with necessary resources such as water and electricity. Migrants will be able to invest in fencing their plots and purchasing irrigation equipment, as well as engage in agricultural work. Applications from those interested have already started coming in," he added.
