The President of the United States noted in his post on the social network Truth Social: “As a result of a thorough analysis of the absurd and poorly justified Supreme Court decision on tariffs, which was made the day before after long deliberations, I, as president, announce an increase in the global tariff from 10% to 15%. Many countries have been 'stealing' from the USA for decades without consequences, but that time is over. In the coming months, my administration will introduce new tariffs that fully comply with the law, which will be part of our 'Make America Great Again' strategy — GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!!!”
Let us remind you that earlier the U.S. Supreme Court recognized the administration's actions to impose import tariffs against other countries as an overreach of authority, citing the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). However, the court did not clarify whether the U.S. is required to refund previously paid tariffs.
