An additional transformer will be installed at the "Kun Batys" substation
In Karakol, a new power transformer is planned to be installed at the 110/10 kV "Kun Batys" substation.
According to information from NESK, work will begin in April 2026.
During the modernization process, the following actions will be carried out:
- installation of a second power transformer with a capacity of 10 MVA;
- installation of a gas-insulated switchgear at 110 kV;
- installation of a 10 kV switchgear unit, including 10 vacuum circuit breakers.
Currently, one transformer with a capacity of 16 MVA is operating at the substation. With the introduction of the new equipment, the total capacity of the substation will increase to 26 MVA.
In recent years, there has been a steadily growing number of consumers. If in 2023 about 4,400 subscribers were served through the substation, now their number has increased to 4,625. The increase in load requires a phased expansion of the energy infrastructure.
The implementation of this project will allow:
- to improve the reliability of electricity supply;
- to reduce the load on existing equipment;
- to provide consumers with high-quality and uninterrupted electricity.
