The meeting between Andrey Nikitin, the Minister of Transport of Russia, and Arzybek Kozhoshev, a member of the Collegium for Energy and Infrastructure of the EEC, focused on the digitalization of transport corridors and the implementation of autonomous systems. According to the Russian embassy in Kyrgyzstan, the discussion concerned the strategic development of logistics within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) until 2029.
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the agreement on a new "roadmap" for the period of 2027–2029. This document will include ambitious tasks, including the creation of a unified regulatory framework for unmanned technologies and the development of standards for autonomous transport. These measures aim to simplify freight transportation between the member states of the union and reduce the impact of the human factor on the delivery process.
Significant attention was paid to existing digital solutions. Since February 11, an agreement on navigation seals has been in effect in the EAEU, allowing for real-time tracking of goods. The next step will be the implementation of electronic transport waybills (e-CMR) and the launch of a pilot project for the digitalization of container transportation on railways, which should significantly expedite border crossing processes.
In conclusion of his speech, Andrey Nikitin supported the initiative to invite representatives from observer countries to the upcoming meeting of the Council of Transport Authorities of the EAEU. This decision is aimed at strengthening transport links and integrating the union into the global logistics network.
