- In the Chui region, initiatives aimed at improving the operation of the irrigation system are being actively implemented. This includes the introduction of technologies that promote water conservation, the transfer of intra-farm irrigation facilities to state ownership, and the reduction of water losses in canals. This was reported by Erlan Omuraliev, head of the Main Department of Water Management of the region, at a board meeting dedicated to the socio-economic development of the area.

According to Omuraliev, by 2025, it is planned to implement water-saving technologies on an area of 6,545 hectares. In 2026, this number is expected to increase to 9,730 hectares, and by 2030 it should reach 21,010 hectares. To improve accessibility and reduce the cost of these technologies, the construction of the "Aqua Plast" plant has begun in the Moscow district, and the issue of allocating a land plot is currently being resolved.

Additionally, in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic dated April 29, 2024, No. 207, the transfer of intra-farm irrigation canals to state balance has occurred. Currently, 4 BDRs, 4 water intake structures, and 12 distribution canals have already been accepted into the state balance in the region.

Work is also underway to reduce water losses in the irrigation system. In 2025, concrete lining of canals was completed over an area of 51,779 square meters, which corresponds to 9.07 kilometers. In 2026, it is planned to line 20.09 kilometers of canals. To scale up these efforts, the construction of the plant in the Moscow district is also ongoing.
