In Kyrgyzstan, a large-scale discussion has begun on measures to support local fish feed production, initiated by the Veterinary Service, Livestock Development, Pastures, and Feed under the Ministry of Agriculture. During a special meeting, a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers was presented, aimed at developing this important sector for the country.
Participants in the discussion included not only representatives of government structures but also industry players: producers, importers, and owners of fish farms. The main focus was on the need to reduce dependence on imported supplies and to provide farmers with high-quality and safe feed produced locally.
Meeting participants proposed various mechanisms for state incentives that would help businesses increase their production capacities. Many suggestions from representatives of the aquaculture industry will be taken into account in the final version of the document. As a result of the meeting, it was decided to revise the project considering the opinions of entrepreneurs so that the support measures would be as effective and targeted as possible.
The ministry emphasizes that the development of feed production is a key step in strengthening Kyrgyzstan's aquaculture sector, which will allow local farms to become more competitive and independent from external supplies.
