"Kyrgyz Export": Pistachio Supplies from Tajikistan Will Support the Confectionery Industry
According to Takirov, Kyrgyzstan holds leading positions in the production of walnuts, including wild varieties, and also has certain volumes of wild pistachios.
“For example, in the context of Tajikistan, we can note that we are leaders in walnut production, including wild ones,” he noted.
He added that with the growth of domestic demand and the development of the tourism industry, there is an increase in the production volumes of confectionery products. Kyrgyz sweets are exported to Kazakhstan and Russia; however, the current volumes of raw materials no longer meet the demand.
In this regard, the possibility of importing pistachios from Tajikistan is being considered, which are ideally suited for the production of various confectionery products such as macarons, cakes, and cheesecakes.
“With the increase in tourist flow, the demand for these products grows every year, so it is necessary to ensure a stable and reliable source of supply,” Takirov explained.
He also emphasized that purchasing raw materials from Tajikistan would reduce logistics costs, and the taste characteristics of Tajik pistachios fully meet the requirements of Kyrgyz producers.
Moreover, he pointed out the opportunities for industrial cooperation. Tajikistan is actively engaged in the production and processing of aluminum, which is used in various industries. In Kyrgyzstan, in particular, there is a factory producing cable products, as well as aluminum and duralumin radiators for heating systems.
According to Takirov, the supply of aluminum from Tajikistan will help reduce transportation costs, which in turn will positively affect the cost of production and increase its competitiveness.
