In Batken, investments, infrastructure, and the quality of public services were discussed

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Bakyt Torobaev, participated in a meeting organized by the presidential envoy in the Batken region. The event reviewed the results of the socio-economic development of the region for the year 2025 and outlined priority tasks for the near future.

During the meeting, key topics were discussed, including the implementation of both national and regional programs, as well as the status of infrastructure and social projects. Issues of security, communal resilience, and the quality of public services were also emphasized. The discussion highlighted the importance of attracting investments and implementing digital technologies in governance, as well as the need for coordination between central government authorities and local administration.

In his speech, Bakyt Torobaev emphasized the significance of the five-year term of President Sadyr Japarov, noting that the year 2025 marks an anniversary since he took office.

“The comparison of indicators from 2020 and 2025 shows significant changes in the economy and state system, which can be characterized as 'night and day,'” Torobaev stated. He added that by 2025, the consolidated budget of the country exceeded 1 trillion soms, which is a substantial increase compared to 247.8 billion soms in 2020.

The minister also noted the activity in the real sector of the economy and identified construction, industry, services, and agriculture as the main factors for economic growth.

Furthermore, the meeting discussed aspects of budget discipline, expenditure control, and the development of investment policy. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of using public-private partnership mechanisms, enhancing coordination between central authorities and regional administration, as well as risk management and preparedness for emergencies. Attention was also drawn to creating conditions for improving the quality of life, including internal migration and the organization of new jobs.

“Our task is not only to maintain economic growth but also to ensure sustainable development of the regions through attracting investments, creating jobs, and developing infrastructure. We must continue working to improve the living standards of the population and create conditions for sustainable economic growth,” Bakyt Torobaev noted.

As a result of the meeting, specific assignments were given to the regional administration and relevant ministries regarding the implementation of strategic programs with established deadlines and responsible persons, accelerating the launch of priority projects, and completing unfinished social facilities. Attention was also focused on improving the management of public finances and assets, modernizing infrastructure, implementing modern monitoring and control tools, ensuring environmental and social responsibility of large projects, and enhancing the quality of public services.
