The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic has decided to extend the zero VAT rate for feed used in fish farms. The press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported the introduction of relevant amendments to the resolution concerning measures to ensure food security.
According to the new version of the rules, the preferential regime will be in effect until December 31, 2027. The zero VAT rate applies to certain feeds for agricultural fish classified under the HS codes 2309 90 1000, 2309 90 3100, and 2309 90 9609. It is important to note that this benefit will only be applied on the condition of direct supplies from producers to fish farming enterprises.
The government hopes that this support measure will help local businesses significantly reduce the costs of maintaining farms. This, in turn, should contribute to an increase in fish production volumes and stabilize market prices for the products.
It should also be noted that item 2 of the list of goods with a zero VAT rate has been declared invalid. The changes will come into effect one week after the official publication of the document.
