
The new master plan covers both Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan and is focused on creating tourist clusters, improving transport connectivity, and attracting investments in projects along the corridor.
Representatives from various agencies attended the event, including the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the Department of Tourism, as well as the administrations of Chuy and Issyk-Kul regions, the business community, and international organizations.

The initial version of this document was approved in 2019. The updated plan takes into account changes in the tourism market after the pandemic and includes new aspects aimed at sustainable development.
The main directions of the new plan include:
- development of ecotourism and environmentally sustainable infrastructure;
- implementation of renewable energy sources and reduction of carbon footprint;
- digitalization of cross-border procedures and improvement of transport connectivity;
- creation of cross-border tourist routes.
Participants of the round table discussed key initiatives and potential flagship projects, expecting that the implementation of this master plan will attract investments from international financial organizations, governments, and the private sector.
The Almaty-Bishkek economic corridor is seen as an important project for regional integration and tourism development in Central Asia.
