

On February 12, Bishkek hosted a final meeting of the city hall board, chaired by the Prime Minister and Head of the President's Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev.
At this meeting, the First Deputy Mayor Mirlanbek Baigonchokov presented the results of the city's socio-economic development for 2025.
According to Baigonchokov, the development of Bishkek in 2025 was carried out within the framework of both state and municipal programs, taking into account actions aimed at expanding the city's territory. The main focus was on ensuring stable economic growth, attracting investments, improving infrastructure, and enhancing management efficiency.
Speaking about macroeconomic indicators, he noted that, according to the National Statistical Committee, the growth dynamics had increased threefold over the past five years. In 2024, the gross regional product of the capital amounted to 744.0 billion soms, corresponding to a growth rate of 115.8%.
The volume of industrial production also grew over the past five years, increasing by 3.6 times. In 2025, enterprises in Bishkek produced industrial products worth 130.4 billion soms, with a physical volume index of 123.1%. A key project contributing to industrial development was the "100 Industrial Enterprises - 2025" project, under which six new enterprises were opened.
The market services sector also showed steady growth, increasing by 5.4 times over the past five years. In 2025, the volume of market services in the city amounted to 1 trillion 879 billion 238.3 million soms, which is 114.5% more compared to the previous year.
The consumer price index, which reflects the level of inflation, was 107.8% compared to 2024. In the context of active market growth, significant attention was paid to price stability and protecting citizens' interests. To control prices on meat products, 461 raid events were conducted with the participation of the antimonopoly service and other organizations.
The construction sector also demonstrated significant growth in 2025, which is an important indicator of investment activity. The volume of gross construction output increased by 2.3 times over the past five years, reaching 143.5 billion soms, which is 19.7% more than the previous year.
The average salary in Bishkek increased by 2.4 times over the past five years, amounting to 54,672.9 soms from January to November 2025, which is 24.4% higher compared to the same period in 2024.
The minimum subsistence level also increased by 169.4% over the past five years, reaching 8,984.12 soms per person in 2025, which is 10% more than in 2024.
Baigonchokov added that as of January 1, 2026, the number of officially registered unemployed had decreased to 962 people, which is 2,847 fewer compared to 2020.
