The Ministry of Agriculture urges farmers to switch to breeding purebred livestock
The Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Bakyt Torobaev, called on farmers during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, urging them to switch to breeding purebred livestock.
According to him, the establishment of a new state enterprise "Kyrgyz Zhayit" will be an important step in managing the load on pastures, as well as for monitoring and planning restoration activities.
Torobaev noted that approximately 252 million soms are collected annually from the use of pastures, which are transferred to municipal services. However, he emphasized that this funding does not always return for improving pasture infrastructure.
The transition to breeding purebred livestock, in the minister's opinion, could significantly increase productivity and reduce the load on pastures. "Instead of two cows, it is better to keep one purebred," he added.
In addition, preferential lending with an interest rate of 3% per annum will be available to assist farmers. The possibility of using biostimulants to improve the condition of pastures is also being considered.
