The construction of the "Kulanak" hydropower plant will be financed by the State Development Bank.
According to available data, the financing agreement for the construction of the "Kulanak" HPP, located in the Naryn region, was signed with the aim of reducing the electricity shortage in the country.
The project involves the launch of a station with a capacity of 100 megawatts, which will be able to produce approximately 435 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. This will reduce the electricity deficit by nearly 11 percent.
According to representatives of the ministry, the new hydroelectric power station will not only improve Kyrgyzstan's position in the regional energy market but will also create new jobs for the residents of the Naryn region.
Furthermore, the launch of the "Kulanak" HPP will contribute to the increase of irrigated land areas in the region, which in turn will promote the development of the agricultural sector and improve living conditions for the population by providing stable access to irrigation water and enhancing infrastructure.
