How many Kyrgyz citizens have imposed a self-ban on borrowing?
According to the regulator, from the beginning of this option until February 6, 2026, the self-ban has been activated by 173,904 people.
Earlier, the Deputy Chairman of the National Bank, Bektur Aliev, noted that this mechanism will help protect the financial interests and independence of citizens, as well as their deposits. It also allows individuals to control their personal credit profile by providing the option to set a "digital lock" on their name at any time. Furthermore, this measure gives citizens time to make more considered decisions.
