At the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh dedicated to finance, budget, entrepreneurship, and competition development, which took place on February 9, 2026, deputy Aisarakhan Abdibaeva raised an important issue. She referred to the words of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Bakyt Torobaev, who noted that there is a lack of natural milk for sale in Kyrgyzstan.

The deputy expressed her bewilderment regarding the inaction of the Ministry of Economy on this issue.
“You set the price for milk, but do not control its quality. Why is this happening?” asked Abdibaeva.
In response, Deputy Minister of Economy Benazir Nurlanova stated that there is a special methodology for determining the purchase price of milk.
However, the deputy criticized Nurlanova for the lengthiness and irrelevance of her answers.

“Learn to give brief and clear answers. You are just avoiding the essence and not providing clear information,” the deputy stated.
In defense of her colleague, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Zhanibek Kerimaliev noted that short answers also do not satisfy the deputies.

“If there really were no natural milk in the country, we would not be able to meet this criterion 100%,” Kerimaliev explained.
To this, Abdibaeva asked why, in that case, milk is imported from abroad if there is enough of it in the country.
The Deputy Minister explained that everyone has the right to choose milk according to their preference.

“It’s like choosing between economy class and business class on an airplane,” he added.
The execution of the resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh No. 1950-VII dated March 14, 2024, concerning the regulation of purchase prices for milk, which is being submitted for approval, is currently under discussion.
