
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee on agricultural policy, water resources, and ecology, the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Industry Bakyt Torobaev announced that in 2026, 41 billion soms are planned to be allocated from the state budget to support agriculture.
As Torobaev noted, a significant portion of these funds will be directed towards capital investments, while 10 billion soms will be used for irrigation, and 3 billion for providing the population with clean drinking water.
“As part of six financing programs that will be implemented through 'Aiyl Bank' and 'Eldik Bank', 8.3 billion soms are allocated. Currently, there are 483 medium and large processing enterprises, 40 logistics centers, 15,000 small businesses, 269 vegetable storage facilities, and 119 slaughter points operating in the country. By 2030, it is planned to open an additional 385 processing enterprises, which will increase the processing share from 7% to 25%. In 2026, the launch of 75 new processing enterprises is planned,” the minister added.
