- On the air of the radio, the chief specialist of the trade policy and WTO department of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Perizat Turdukhojeva, shared information about the current efforts to create trade agreements and their preparatory stages.

According to her, the department's work encompasses both bilateral and international agreements, as well as the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, and is aimed at stimulating exports.

“Within the framework of the EAEU, we have already concluded several agreements, including with Iran, where we identify product positions of interest for export, as well as those goods we wish to import. These agreements allow us to establish preferential tariffs on the export and import of such goods,” Turdukhojeva noted.

She also emphasized that the process of preparing agreements is lengthy and multi-stage.

“First, an analysis is conducted — we determine which goods we can offer our partners and what we can import on favorable terms. Then, an intention is formed, negotiations take place, and lists of goods are agreed upon. After that, technical work begins on coordinating the draft agreement and fulfilling the necessary domestic procedures,” she explained.

Turdukhojeva added that after the document is signed, the ratification process begins, and only after that does the agreement come into force and start to take effect.
