The Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic is launching an active implementation of hydroponics – an advanced method that allows for the cultivation of plants without the use of traditional soil. This technology is based on the use of nutrient water solutions, which enables harvesting in controlled conditions. According to the ministry's press service, this approach aims to radically renew the agricultural sector and attract young entrepreneurs to this field.
Experts highlight a significant resource savings as a key advantage of hydroponics. In conditions of water scarcity, this technology allows for a reduction in water consumption by 70-90% compared to traditional farming methods. Moreover, this method accelerates the vegetation of plants and guarantees their ecological purity, eliminating the risk of soil pests and diseases. This opens up opportunities for transforming urban spaces and limited plots into productive areas, ensuring access to fresh vegetables and greens throughout the year.
Department representatives emphasize that hydroponics is not just an experiment, but a strategic tool for ensuring the country's food security. The Veterinary and Livestock Development Service has already advised farmers to actively adopt resource-saving methods. The transition to hydroponics should be a response to climate challenges and water resource shortages, providing Kyrgyz agrarians with stable high profits, regardless of weather conditions and soil quality.
