The stage of artificial trout reproduction in the Issyk-Kul region has been completed, report representatives of the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic. Out of 812 thousand eggs placed in incubation devices, 747 thousand larvae were successfully obtained.
The survival rate was an impressive 92%, indicating the high quality of the fish farmers' work. Despite 8% natural losses, the young trout have already been transferred to specialized starter feeds, showing positive growth dynamics.
The Regional Acclimatization Department is also actively working on breeding the whitefish. There are 2.5 million eggs of this species in the incubation facilities. According to experts' forecasts, the hatching process for whitefish larvae will take about 82 days, concluding by early March.
These activities are aimed at restoring the population of valuable fish species and promoting the development of the fisheries sector in the republic.
