Kyrgyzstan is counting on large projects in IT, tourism, and natural resources — Kydyrbaev

As reported by Uluk Kydyrbaev, head of the secretariat of the Business Development and Investment Council under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kyrgyzstan has set a priority task — economic growth. This statement was made at the B5+1 forum, organized to discuss the investment climate in the country.

According to Kydyrbaev, significant investments are required to achieve this ambitious goal.

“We are actively cooperating with developed countries and trying to introduce modern technologies, equipment, and capital into Kyrgyzstan. The B5+1 format is important because for more than three decades, each Central Asian state has developed in isolation. However, over the past five years, we have come to realize that only joint work at the regional level can attract the attention of the global community. By combining efforts, we can interest large international companies. That is why the five countries have united to focus on common interests. Previously, similar events took place in Japan, and two years ago such a forum was held in Almaty. Now it is taking place in Bishkek,” he noted.

Kydyrbaev added that the main goal of such a forum is to transition from theoretical discussions to practical actions. The message of the event is the necessity of joint investment attraction and activation of actions. Moreover, large companies from the USA are showing active interest in the region, organizing numerous meetings.

“Conditions are being created for the launch of specific projects in various fields. Currently, large initiatives are being implemented in the field of technology, and there is also interest from investors in the mining industry, mineral resources, IT, tourism, and healthcare,” Kydyrbaev added.
