Deputy head of the State Mortgage Company Nurlan Kudaykulov responded that in Bishkek, the cost per square meter is 59,140 soms, while in other regions it is 64,800 soms.
Azygaliev also clarified the selling price of the housing, and Kudaykulov reported that the cost of apartments ranges from 900 to 1,400 dollars per square meter.
The deputy expressed confusion regarding such a high price, comparing it to the cost of construction.
A representative of the GIK explained that the company needs to make a profit to ensure its operations and finance future projects.
In response, the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Daniyar Amangeldiev added that the tariffs of the State Mortgage Company are under constant control, and all risks are balanced by profits.
He also reminded that apartments from the GIK are offered with repairs.
“We created the GIK not for profit, but to provide affordable housing for those in need,” the deputy noted.
