At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Daniyar Amangeldiev, announced a ban on charging service fees in restaurants and cafes. This decision was made to protect consumer rights.
Amangeldiev emphasized that there is a corresponding calculation for this issue.
“We are conducting measures to regulate the service sector. Establishments are not allowed to include service in the menu price. According to current legislation, compensation for services must be voluntary. Including it in the bill is a violation of consumer rights. Recently, there has been a significant increase in prices in this sector,” he noted.
