Kyrgyzstan has received official permission to export honey to the European Union countries.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, in this regard, specialists led by the director of the Veterinary Service for Livestock Development, Pastures, and Feed, Adilet Sotovaldiyev, held a meeting with honey producers from across the country.
During the meeting, issues related to the development of a roadmap for export, increasing the competitiveness of Kyrgyz honey in the European market, and ensuring that the produced products meet international quality standards were discussed.
The European Commission confirmed the permission for honey export from Kyrgyzstan and included this product in the list of goods subject to technical requirements for import into the EU.
Access to the European market became possible thanks to the systematic work of the Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic in collaboration with partners from the European Union.
The ministry noted that this decision opens new horizons for local beekeepers, contributing to an increase in export volumes, enhancing the competitiveness of products in the international arena, and creating conditions for entering new markets.
Work to expand the list of livestock products permitted for export to EU countries will continue, allowing Kyrgyz producers to strengthen their positions in the European market.
