In Bishkek, a two-day B5+1 business forum has started, gathering delegates from the business communities and government structures of Central Asia and the USA.
The main goal of the forum is to strengthen the position of the private sector in the process of economic transformations and to develop cooperation in the region. The event will review the progress on 21 recommendations voiced at the previous B5+1 forum in Almaty in 2024, as well as establish new priorities for joint work.
Priority areas for 2026 include agriculture, the banking sector and finance, important mineral resources, e-commerce and IT, transport and logistics, as well as tourism.
The forum's program includes regional business sessions, presentation of recommendations from the private sector, and discussion of economic priorities put forward by governments. The B5+1 format is seen as a business equivalent of the C5+1 platform and will serve as a long-term venue for dialogue and investment.
