He noted that such financial independence of the ministry could contribute to the emergence of corrupt schemes and monopolistic practices.
“I am not blaming you for this; I am simply drawing your attention to the possible risks. The Ministry of Construction, like the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor's Office, has control functions, and if they start to finance themselves, it could lead to corruption. We have already faced a similar situation with special accounts that were later closed,” he added.
These remarks were made in the context of discussing the pricing policy for services and work of the Ministry of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the rising prices in the construction sector.
