Modern irrigation technologies are being implemented in the Chui region to restore arable land
Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev conducted a working trip to the village of Frunze in the Sokuluk district, where he became acquainted with the implementation of innovative irrigation technologies aimed at restoring degraded lands. During the visit, he also studied the use of modern agricultural equipment at the State Enterprise "Kyrgyzmamasyltykumzavod".
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the operation of a unit designed for deep soil loosening (chisel, cultivator), which is used in resource-saving agriculture, was presented at the factory.
This equipment allows for loosening the soil to a depth of 40 to 70 centimeters, breaking up the compacted subsoil layer, which improves water permeability and helps retain moisture, as well as enhances air exchange and creates optimal conditions for the root system of plants.
This technology is applied both in preparing the soil for sowing and in restoring compacted and degraded areas. Experts note that the introduction of modern irrigation solutions can lead to an increase in crop yields by 30-35%.
During the test launch of the new technologies, the minister emphasized that the development of irrigation and the modernization of equipment before the start of sowing are crucial aspects of contemporary agricultural policy.
"To enhance agricultural productivity, it is essential to rely on scientifically grounded methods of farming. Before plowing and sowing, it is important to analyze the state of the soil and accurately determine its nutrient needs to choose the most effective agronomic solutions," Torobaev noted.
The minister also highlighted that the development of irrigation and technical modernization are priorities of the state agricultural policy.
Additionally, as part of the state program, it is planned to acquire agricultural machinery worth 2.5 million US dollars for agricultural producers and breeding farms in 2025, which will be provided for rent.
