In Kyrgyzstan, social stores are being opened to stabilize meat prices, - Antimonopoly Service
Imankulov noted that after the introduction of state price control on meat, the service, in collaboration with the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Bishkek Mayor's Office, local authorities, and law enforcement agencies, conducted raids and monitoring. As a result, proposals for new measures were developed.
“We proposed to open social stores in every district of Bishkek, as well as in major populated areas of the country. Such stores are already starting their operations. Farmers will be able to sell their products directly, often at prices lower than the regulated ones,” Imankulov noted.
He provided examples: in the Kadamjai district of the Batken region, meat was sold at a fair for 650 soms per kilogram. In Bishkek, at the initiative of the Lenin district administration, a social store was opened at the intersection of Kyiv and Kuliyev streets, where beef is offered at 660 soms. Similar points also operate at the "Dordoy" market and in the October district of the capital, as well as mobile stores.
“If meat prices are higher at the markets, consumers can turn to these social trading points,” added the Deputy Chairman of the service.
Additionally, at the end of 2025, a mini-meat processing plant opened in the village of Baytik. Imankulov reported that such enterprises are also being launched in other regions, including Balakchy, and are planned in major populated areas and regions.
He separately addressed the issue of prices for fuel and lubricants, noting that gasoline prices have decreased by 4–5 soms. “This became possible thanks to bilateral and trilateral agreements with the Association of Oil Traders and major fuel suppliers. We continue monitoring to prevent shortages and unjustified price increases,” he added.
Regarding gas prices, Imankulov noted that this falls under the competence of the Ministry of Energy; however, the antimonopoly service will continue to inform the relevant authorities.
