The changes affect the order of the State Agency for Architecture, Construction, and Housing and Communal Services under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, which approves the building codes of the Kyrgyz Republic SN KR 20-02:2024 "Seismic-resistant construction. Design standards" dated March 7, 2024, No. 68-npa.
The purpose of developing this draft is to improve the standards for seismic-resistant construction, with an emphasis on clarifying the application of peak acceleration values for new construction projects in Bishkek.
According to the draft, it is proposed to supplement paragraph 2 of the aforementioned order, establishing that this procedure will not apply to buildings and structures with a height of 75 meters and above, as well as to unique projects with a high level of social responsibility of class IV in accordance with SN KR 20-02:2024.
The draft also outlines steps for the official publication of the order, the transfer of its copies to the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic for inclusion in the state register of regulatory acts, and informing the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The order will come into force 15 days after its official publication, if adopted.
