At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Gulsharkan Kultaeva proposed to limit the ability of young people under the age of 25 to obtain loans.
She emphasized that many young people take out loans online without understanding all the terms, such as interest rates and penalties, and often do not discuss this with their parents.
“Some microfinance organizations issue loans to individuals aged 18 to 25. However, many of these young people do not have stable jobs and depend on financial support from their parents. Is it possible to introduce restrictions for them?” Kultaeva asked.
In response, the Deputy Chairman of the National Bank, Medet Tairov, stated that the regulator is already addressing this issue.
