Kyrgyzstan and South Korea Join Forces to Create "Smart Villages"
The official signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding took place in Bishkek, where representatives of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan met with the Korean Rural Community Development Corporation (KRC). This memorandum will serve as the foundation for extensive digital transformation in the agricultural sector and rural areas of the country.
The parties agreed on joint efforts to implement modern Korean technologies in the management of land and water resources. An important aspect of the cooperation will be the modernization of irrigation systems and the implementation of projects to create "smart villages," which implies the development of modern and technologically equipped infrastructure in the regions.
Cooperation with KRC fully aligns with the strategic objectives of the National Development Program of Kyrgyzstan until 2026. The signed document will serve as a tool for attracting investments and obtaining Official Development Assistance (ODA) from the Republic of Korea. The application of Korean experience is expected to enhance the efficiency of agriculture and the quality of life in rural areas through the introduction of automation and advanced management methods.
