The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has analyzed the situation with rising prices in Kyrgyzstan and presented its findings.

According to the agency, the consumer price index in the country at the end of 2025 was 9.4%, while the average annual inflation rate stood at 8.2%.

Among the main categories of goods affected by price increases, meat became 13.6% more expensive, fruits and vegetables by 19.1%, bakery products and cereals by 3.8%, dairy products, cheese, and eggs by 5.5%, and alcohol and tobacco by 8%.

The ministry highlighted several factors contributing to this price increase. These include seasonal demand, annual increases in excise taxes, rising wheat prices in Kazakhstan, increased logistics costs, as well as higher prices for feed and fuel. Additionally, the situation is influenced by rising transportation costs and purchase prices for livestock, increased demand for products in neighboring countries, and global inflation.
