Today, January 22, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov reported that rolling blackouts are not being implemented in Kyrgyzstan.

Commenting on the inquiry from Deputy Mahabat Mavlyanova regarding frequent power outages in the Nookat district, he noted that no schedules for rolling blackouts have been introduced in the country. According to him, the current outages are not a result of intentional restrictions on electricity supply.

Since the beginning of November, due to low water levels in the Toktogul reservoir, measures have been implemented to regulate electricity consumption. During morning and evening hours, the power available to residents was temporarily reduced from 5 to 3 kilowatts using "smart meters."
Since November 6, similar energy-saving measures have been introduced for government institutions.
According to government information, as of January 15, the water level in the Toktogul reservoir was 9.102 billion cubic meters, which is 1.631 billion cubic meters less than in the same period last year.

Authorities and the Ministry of Energy emphasize that periodic power outages are of a technical or regulatory nature and do not fall under the category of rolling blackouts. In this regard, the population and organizations are urged to use electricity rationally and economically.
