In Kyrgyzstan, a digital traceability system for fish is being launched.
The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced the transition of the fishing industry to digital technologies. As part of this initiative, several information platforms have been developed aimed at simplifying business operations and increasing market transparency. One of the most important innovations is the "Fish and Fish Product Traceability Information System," which allows tracking the entire product cycle—from the incubation of imported caviar to the preparation of finished products for export. This initiative not only ensures compliance with veterinary and sanitary standards but also significantly increases the export potential of fish produced in Kyrgyzstan.
For fishing enthusiasts, the "Electronic Fishing License" system has been implemented. Now, obtaining a permit for recreational fishing can be done in just a few clicks through the official website of the ministry or the MegaPay mobile application, using QR payments from any bank. This allows citizens to avoid the need to visit government institutions and handle paper documents.
Additionally, the AIS "Unified Electronic Register of Fishery Water Bodies and Entities" is being introduced. This system enables fish farmers to receive government services in a remote format. Currently, there is an option for online applications for obtaining a fish farming passport and a biological justification for fish breeding. The department notes that this digital transformation will create equal and transparent conditions for all market participants and will contribute to the systematic development of the fishing industry in the country.
